What the rule requires

Every product page for a physical non-food item needs a block of safety and traceability information that most stores never held in structured form. The work is mostly data: collecting manufacturer and responsible-person details per product and rendering them on the listing.

Who it binds: Anyone selling non-food consumer products to customers in the EU, including sellers outside the EU, from 13 December 2024. Online listings must show the manufacturer's name, address and electronic contact, the EU responsible person where the manufacturer is outside the EU, product identification, and any warnings or safety information.
